Mirror Me Write’ is an independent book sellers that have recently established  in Manchester. The vision is to change the face of diversity and inclusive books for Children and Young Adults in the North- West. Fuelled by a commitment to bring social change and peace, they are seeking to build links with schools and the wider community.
One of their fundamental beliefs is that, through representational books children will foster a love of reading and raise their reading attainments.’
Mirror Me Write was setup by Ayesha Choudrey, a full time Teaching Assistant and mum of two young boys at the end of October 2019.  After delivering the curriculum and being in education firstly as a community artist and then as a TA for many years,  Ayesha saw the need for more diverse resources. Mirror Me Write was born out of a long standing love for books, (her mother is a librarian).
Issues of representation are very important to her and something she addressed in great detail when studying for her MA in Visual Culture. She believes that books are the perfect medium to promote knowledge, peace and inclusion and that all children should see themselves in stories.
