Saj is a partner in HDM Spice Shop, who was a founding member of Multicultural Cumbria With nearly 20 years of volunteering and raising awareness of BAME engagement. A voice of experience, understanding and cultural understanding of the issues affecting BAME in Carlisle and Cumbria. A compassionate friend.  Her passion and commitment is infectious and continues to attract like minded people who continue to make things happen.

Our Trustees

Amyn recently retired as CEO of Penrith Building Society and wanted to continue to invest in the community to strengthen and empower them. As chair of Multicultural Carlisle and his specialism in leadership, strategy and governance, Amyn is supporting and guiding the trustees to develop a strong and stable organisation to develop grass roots engagement and projects for Black, Asian and ethnic minorities (BAME) living and working in Cumbria.

Ruth is the Director of the Institute of Education at the University of Cumbria.  She has experience of teaching across primary and secondary PgCE programmes, M-level modules and BA Primary QTS three and four year degree programmes. She is currently an External Examiner at Liverpool Hope University and a published author.
She is also a school governor at a local primary school.
Ruth Harrison Palmer
Catherine has worked as an arts development manager for 24 years in Cumbria and Carlisle. She is committed to the idea that everyone should have opportunity to engage in the arts. During her time as CEO at Prism Arts Catherine has had the privilege of engaging with diverse communities in Cumbria, this has been integral to the development of the charity as a successful organisation.
