Latin Dancing Jenny (Polyxeni) Rapti comes from Greece and has been living in Carlisle since 2016. Shehas a background in Early Years education and a love for arts and dancing in particular.Jenny was taught traditional Greek dances for several years since she was a child, attendedballet classes as a young teenager and discovered social latin dances in 2005. She stillpractices Salsa (Cuban and Cross Body style) and Bachata until today by attending classes, dance congresses with national and international instructors and social events regularly.Jenny teaches a weekly salsa class at Calva Bar in Carlisle on Thursdays with a fun andrelaxed approach, focusing on teaching people the technique and the moves so they candance socially and enjoy themselves on the dance floor.''Working with Multicultural Cumbria for the Dance Carousel project was a great experiencefor me. Initially, I was asked to do a ladies Salsa block of lessons but there are so many sociallatin dances the ladies could get a taste of, so along with the salsa, we added a little bit ofbachata, merengue, cha cha cha and some brazilian samba and Latin Fusion was born! Ithink the ladies really enjoyed it.
