Started with MCC: March 2018

Role at MCC: Accounts/Admin Assistant

Other work: I work as a Personal Assistant for a severely sight impaired Client. Work for her is varied and rewarding. Together we have dealt with paperwork and finances, decorated, gardened, helped with homework, taken day trips with her children and supported each other through national lockdown. I set up a cleaning business in May 2017 after a long-term illness. The support I received from family, friends and strangers during that time strengthened my belief in the strength of a positive community.

Personal interests: I love reading and going on local adventures with my children and their friends. This summer’s adventures have included kite flying in Allonby, a photography walk around Carlisle and outdoor swimming in Mosedale. I am currently studying accounting qualifications through the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians).

Why MCC? I have a strong sense of fairness and was lucky enough to be brought up believing that everyone is equal. Experience has taught me that sharing is the best way to learn about each other. I wholeheartedly agree with MCC’s aim of sharing and celebrating our differences and enjoy working for an organisation that promotes and delivers hope through its activities.
