The project has two volunteer roles which aim to help maintain the health and wellbeing of elderly and disabled people by countering the effects of loneliness and isolation. Befriending Volunteer Companionship, transport, accompanied walks, dog walking, shopping and running small errands, supporting people to access social and leisure activities, helping people access service through the home improvement agency and energy efficiency training. In this role you will be a local point of contact in your community. In the event of a power cut you will liaise with Electricity North West who can offer extra support to keep people safe and comfortable until the power is back on.

Electricity Priority Services Register

Electricity North West owns, operates and maintains the North West’s electricity network. Occasionally planned and unplanned power cuts do happen and for many customers, being without power can cause extra difficulties that might affect their daily needs. By signing up to our Priority Services Register we can provide extra support to ensure you’re safe and comfortable until the power is back on.
