Marcia Reid-Fotheringham JL MARCIA REID FOTHERINGHAM, Justice of the Peace, Deputy Liuetenant of Cumbria Marcia was born in London and moved to New York, USA at a young age. She was graduated BS Sociology, MS Psychology and PD Family therapy. Following university, Marcia moved to Massachusetts. She held a variety of position including: a clinical psychologist and family therapist. After having a successful clinical private practice in Salem, Massachusetts Marcia moved to Cumbria in 1997 and initially was the Director of her dental practices. Followed by a career as a psychologist and family therapist. She dedicated ten years, to the NHS within CAMHS and Psychology. During this period she worked with people with a variety of complexed family, social and community issues, Throughout her employment years, Marcia received many employee awards and recognitions. In addition, she has raised money for numerous charities. She currently is Magistrates at the family courts panel. Following this she has been a Carlisle Bench Deputy chair. She has been Cumbria’s High Sheriff from 2019-2020 and has had a successful year promoting Cumbria and Cumbrians She has been a board member for many organisations such as Board member of Safety Net, Tullie House Museum, Carlisle, Cumbria Victims Charity Trust, the Cumbria Community Foundation, the Multicultural Cumbria Board, the Cumbria Opera Group and the University of Lancaster Council. Marcia is now a Patron of Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster (BECBC) and AWAZ Cumbria. Marcia became a Deputy Lieutenant of Cumbria.
