MCC Why we exist Aims & Objectives Mission Statement MCC exists to enable, engage and empower diasporas to create a truly multicultural county; to break down barriers and promote cultures by sharing our similarities and celebrating our differences. This promotes a strong sense of identity for diaspora to make a positive contribution to Cumbria and its cultural diversity. Vision Statement Our vision is to be a leader in the race and multicultural sector by working collaboratively with partners and organisations that share our values of embracing multicultural integration and community cohesion. We focus on the needs of our ethnically diverse communities to enable them to develop a sense of belonging and ownership of their heritage and culture. We deliver four programme areas; Social, Education, Culture, Health; to share our similarities and celebrate our differences. Aims & Objective To engage, empower and enable diasporas from all four corners of the globe through: Multicultural Cumbria has been set up to empower minority groups & the wider community. To improve communication on community level. Building confidence, self esteem, social opportunities and community cohesion. To support individuals & groups from international heritages to embrace their culture and share it with friends, family and neighbours. We aim to seek out diaspora people that live & work in Cumbria to be actively involved, before we look for skills outside of the county.
