Karen Lockney is a senior lecturer at UOC and programme leader for Working with Children and Families in Carlisle. Prior to working in HE, she was an English teacher in East London and South Cumbria. She is also a Labour Cumbrian county councillor for Denton Holme in Carlisle. She is a director of Carlisle Community Help and a trustee of Carlisle Law Centre. Her PhD is in Creative Writing and explored place and identity.
