Janett Walker is the Chair of the recently formed Anti Racist Cumbria. Their mission statement: tackling and ending racism through action and education to create a forward-thinking and actively anti-racist Cumbria; free from prejudice and systemic inequalities. Janett and the Anti Racist Cumbria team believe everything starts with education. Education has the power to transform lives.

Janett is African Caribbean, a first descendant of the Windrush Generation. Her parents were Jamaican born and came here in the 60s. Janett grew up in Leeds and is the youngest of 5 siblings. When she is not chairing Anti Racist Cumbria, she is running Flock Events, with her business partner. She is based in Windermere.
