I'm a Greek White Christian female.

Born into a Christian name. 'Georgiou'
Married into a Muslim name. 'Ali'

I never had to explain my maiden name, although people are very interested in knowing my faith/religion since I married into a muslim name. Some out of pure interest, and some out of disgust.

As a Recruiter of 20 years I have seen businesses filter CVs based on names in front of my own eyes.
Obviously giving other excuses why the candidates are not suitable.
I challenged those businesses every single time.

I make sure not to do business with racists!
